Yes, it's cliche, but it's Queen - so shut up.
The New Jersey Devils are Stanley Cup Champions, and I am a happy Panda. I am somewhat surprised that all of North America did not hear me scream upon the first goal (which I thought didn't have a chance).
Not much else to say about it, other than it was a great event, a shutout in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and a close game until the last 3 1/2 minutes. Just the way I would have wanted it. For those of you who think I always get what I want, I realized this earlier.
Record of my favorite teams (Giants, Devils, Yankees) in Finals that I don't attend (series): 9-0
Record of my favorite teams in Finals when I attend (series): 0-3.
Don't get me wrong, nine is a lot, but still.

This evening, The New Jersey Devils take on the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in one of the greatest events in sport - Game 7 of the StanleyCup Finals. I have no idea how this one is going to turn out, as the first two games were Devils shutouts, the next two were Ducks defensively dominated (3d's, huh?) and then games five and six were blowouts on the scoreboard. The only constant so far has been the home team has won every game. This bodes well as New Jersey is home tonight. 8PM on ABC for one hell of a game that only comes around every few years.
On a sad note, I found an apartment on Saturday that looked like it was a winner. The guy took over a week to getting around to showing us the place, so we figured we were okay. Just to be sure, after making sure we could afford it, I called Sunday afternoon to tell him we were interested. He calls back this morning to tell us that he rented it out Sunday morning. Damn you! Damn you all to hell! Well at least I can drown my sorrows in High Definition Hockey.

The New Jersey Devils won 6-3 last night in a ridiculous offensive onslaught, sending the series to Anaheim for Game 6, where the Devils will have a chance to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup. Good Times.
P.S. I know I promised pictures. They are developed, and I have them in my possession, but they require scanning and posting still. I have not had the time recently to do much on my site as I have been working on two other sites for which I will be webmaster. When they are done, I will post the links. Then, when this site is done, it will actually be something worth reading. But until then, enjoy this.
P.P.S. Eddie Izzard's coming to town, and I bought the wrong amount of tickets.

Well, the Devils lost their second straight overtime game, tying the series at 2-2. That means that there are three games left, and the first team to win two wins the series.
The only good news is that the two teams are almost even when in Anaheim (the last two games) and the Devils kill the Ducks in Jersey (the first two games). With two games in Jersey left (only Game 6 will be in Anaheim), I hope the advantage is New Jersey's. I hope.
At least I saw this game in HD. The picture was beautiful, and I guarantee that more people will become hockey fans if they can follow the puck like you can in high definition. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you sneak a peak.

Hey! Why hasn't Chris typed anything in a while?
Because he's busy.
Doing what? Isn't he unemployed?
Don't you worry your pretty little head what Chris is doing.
Devils still lead 2-1, and the rest of the games are on ABC in High Defintion. Good times.

Saw two movies over the weekend
- A Mighty Wind - Best in Show this is not. A weak movie, maybe worth renting. Best in Show, by comparison, is a must own.
- The Matrix Reloaded - It is rare that a sequel is actually good. This one managed to live up to my expectations, which was a most pleasant surprise. If you liked the first one, you'll like this one. My only complaint was that some of the important plot details were sped through. I don't want to give up anything, but this movie requires watching the first one, and then playing close attention. Next time, there should be less dancing and more plot exposition.
A bit confusing - unless, of course, if you see it twice. Which may have been the point.
