Yes! I've got the comments thing to work in its entirety, but it keeps posting the comments link at the top of articles, not the bottom. That may take a day of research, followed by figuring how to move over the current content, and some minimal design, but I see no real reason for it not to go live this week.
I could have done it today, but instead of leaving everyone with a weird mess, I decided to wait a few days and launch more hardcore later. My only regret is that the new site will not be XHTML/CSS compliant. It is a lame, table driven hodgepodge, but that will not be changing in the near future. mambo seems to be moving in that direction, but it will probably take at least a year before it gets there.
Oh, well. Such is progress.
By the way, is anyone watching Huff on Showtime? I really like that show and I'm not hearing much buzz on it at all, probably because it's not on HBO. However, it's clearly better than the Carnivale crap-fest that's currently on.

They randomly and without warning demand a signature in person for some packages and do not let you waive that requirement. They also never give you a delivery time. Thus, sometimes you are basically forced to take a day off to get anything delivered. Thus, I had to drive out 20 minutes each way to pick up a package I had "delivered". I hate UPS.
FedEx allows you to sign a waiver, which means that they can leave stuff at a pre-determined location even if it requires signature, because you have waived any right to claim damages. I am willing to take that chance in exchange for actually having things delivered.
I hate UPS. UPS - the delivery company for the unemployed and homebound.
If you're wondering why this anger now, I had to drive to Hope Mills, NC to pick up Amber's belated Christmas present.
The new site thing may actually be a go by this weekend, as I am making decent progress. It will be a soft launch, with me foolign with it for a week or two, followed by a Grand Re-opening with prizes and such. Fancy, eh?

YES!!! I was telling Amber that a Giants win, especially if Tiki got the record and Eli played well would be the difference between a sucky six month offseason and a happy one. I have been pretty positive on this team, as they were decimated by injury (17 players on Injured reserve) and had no good QB option to speak of - Warner was holding the ball too long and Eli just needed time.
Well, time has passed and Eli looks a lot better. 3TDs tonight, along with an o-line that looked good outside of Petitgout's false starts (probably back-injury related). The only problem is that the team appears to have cap trouble again if they drop some underperformers like Shaun Williams and Ike Hilliard. Accorsi is at fault, but he appears to have had his role reduced.
Anyway, great game!
I hope to have the site change up by midweek. The comments thing may come a bit later, but it looks like it just might work. Off to sleep.

A Happy New Year to all.
I am back from Jersey, and only had my bags delayed one flight, leaving me luggageless for a few hours. I had a great time, but also miss not seeing everybody out in Detroit. I think a visit out there may be in order soon.
I think I may flip to the new site overhaul in the next week or so, even though it is unfinished. That should give me the motivation to make the move quickly. I am having some serious troubles gettign the comments thing to work, so comments on my blog entries may return to the way they were pre-forum, where they just are a link at the bottom of every entry. It may take a month plus to figure that one out, and it may be impossible.
I don't know, part of me says not to fix it if it ain't broken, but then the rest of me is hell-bent on tinkering. I don't think anything I ever installed on this site was ever done with much forethought, so it may be the way to go.
Basically, the site will be wacky for a few days -- the image gallery may be offline for awhile, the blog entries and forum may take some time to be set up properly, and the design will be lacking until the functionality is at least achieved baseline.
Give it a week before you start complaining. Unless you like it, then begin complimenting immediately.

And tonight thank God it's themmmm...... Innnstead of youuuuuuuuu!!!
U2 and Bono rock it hard at Christmastime.
That song plus, "Baby, Please Come Home" = Good Christmas.
I am off to the land of Jersey for the Christmas Holiday. Good progress is being made on the Mambo site overaul. I have a big project ahead of me when I return to get the comments to work out, but after that all I have to do is import the blog and forums, a little more design magic, and poof! New site.
My Iriver is loaded and I will be ready to rip to my little heart's content in a day when I get home to add to my collection. On top of that, I may be doing it on a fancy ass new computer that I alerted my Dad to.
My new favorite site FatWallet reveals a deal for a 2800+ Athlon Sempron, 256MB RAM, 40 GB HD, onbaord video and audio, 9-in-1 media card reader, network card and modem - with keyboard and mouse, no monitor -- for $179 after rebate. That may just be the most ridiculous deal I have ever heard of. Check it out here.
Anyway, the best of Holiday wishes to all, especially Jon Lloyd - one half of the Monk and Dave Show. He quit his job as a salesperson at my radio station today. I'll have more to say about this in a day or two, but you'll have to find it to read it, if you know what I mean. If not, then comment this, and I'll tell you.
